Important Information
Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is a New York State funded program for 4-year-olds not yet eligible for kindergarten. Children must turn 4 on or before December 1 of that school year to be eligible. Visit our district website for UPK application information.
Kindergarten: Children must be 5 years old on or before December 1 to be eligible to register for kindergarten.
1st Grade (Compulsory Attendance): New York State Education Law (Section 3205) states that children who turn 6 on or before December 1 are required to attend instruction in September of that school year. Children who turn 6 after December 1 are required to attend school the following September.
