Roman Zebrowski
Roman Zebrowski was
born on February 22, 1915 at Middle Island, New York. He was the son
of Michalina (Luba) and William Zebrowski. Before the war he was
working for Mackay Radio Company as a Rigger. Zebrowski was inducted
into the service on February 10, 1942 at Camp Upton, New York. As a
Private he was sent to Fort McClellan, Alabama serving with Company D
of the 8th Battalion for 3 months. Next he was
transferred to MacDill Field in Florida where he spent 13 months
with the 139th Signal – Radio Intelligence Company.
Rising to the rank of Sergeant he was sent to Atterbury Air Field in
Indians with the 57th Sta. Company squadron. His final
assignment was at the Woodrow Wilson General Hospital, at Stanton
Virginia, where he was discharged from the Army on April 14, 1944.
