Jerome Delli – Bovi was born on March
15, 1926, in the Bronx, New York. He was the son of Lena (DeSanto) and Amedo
Delli –Bovi. He was inducted into the Navy 1n 1944 at White hall
Street in New York City. Delli - Bovi received his training at
Samson, New York and Norfolk, Virginia. Delli - Bovi left the
Continental United States in June1944 when he sailed through
the Panama Canal to Hawaii. During his time in the Navy he served on
three ships; the USS Thorn, the USS Steimveblen and a liberty ship
rising to the rank of Seaman 1st Class. Delli - Bovi was discharged
from the Navy at Lido Beach, Long island in 1946.
