Middle School Hosts Volunteerism Day

Longwood Middle School recently hosted an exciting Fire and Emergency Services Volunteerism Day featuring the Coram, Middle Island, Ridge, Yaphank, and Gordon Heights fire departments, along with the Suffolk County Police and Sheriff Departments.

Sixth-grade students had an incredible experience touring rescue vehicles, learning CPR and signs of choking, and witnessing a police helicopter fly overhead and land on the field! Each department highlighted the importance of community service and volunteerism, answering many of our students' questions and inspiring future volunteers.

A huge thank you to our Volunteerism Day Committee, local fire departments, and emergency service workers for their partnership in making this important event possible.
