Varsity Football Earns Top Suffolk County Awards
At the Monday, December 5 Section XI Football Awards dinner, the Longwood High School varsity football team was honored for being a Suffolk County Finalist and Division I Big Four Champion. Additionally, numerous players earned top Suffolk County awards!
Congratulations to:
- Najee Henderson: Suffolk County Division I Championship MVP
- Terrance Robinson: All-County, Hansen Award Nominee (best player), Cipp Award Nominee (best running back)
- Mason Hauser: All-County, Collotta Award Runner-Up (best linebacker), Cutinella Award Nominee (best leader)
- Tyler Hammel: All-County, Zellner Award Runner-Up (best linemen), Burnett Award Nominee (best defensive player)
Senior Wallace Wilson received the 12th Man Award, which is given to a player who overcomes adversity or injury to contribute to his team's success. In his junior year, Wally overcame an immune system disorder, returned to the program, and became a two-year starter. Wally is now being heavily recruited to play offensive line in college.
