A Message from Superintendent Dr. Lohman

A Message from Superintendent Dr. Lohman

This morning, the district was saddened to learn of a hit-and-run accident that occurred last night involving two students who were previous members of our school community.

The two eighth-grade students from William Paca Middle School, Krystal Randolph and Tyler Phillips, who previously attended West Middle Island Elementary School, were walking with their siblings on Granny Road in Coram when they were struck by a car.  After the accident, the driver immediately fled the scene.

While Krystal’s injuries were non-life threatening, tragically, Tyler succumbed to his injuries early this morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tyler and Krystal’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

The Suffolk County Police Department is asking anyone with information related to the hit and run to please contact the Major Case Unit detectives at (631) 852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
