New Assistant Principal Appointed at Longwood Junior High School
The Longwood Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Schuster as the new assistant principal at Longwood Junior High School.
Mrs. Schuster has been an integral part of the Longwood School community since 1997 when she was hired as a Spanish teacher for grades 7-12. In 2017, she was named the World Languages Department Chair at Longwood Junior High School, where she supervised the scheduling for French, Italian, and Spanish courses to optimize learning outcomes, led the development of common assessments, delivered professional development aligned with district goals, and represented our district on the national stage as part of the Junior High School Essential Elements to Watch Team. She also served as a facilitator for the Longwood High School Late Afternoon Program.
Mrs. Schuster holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Gordon College, a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies with an ENL Concentration, and 7-12 Spanish Certification from Stony Brook University, as well as School Building Leadership Certification from The College of Saint Rose.
"We are excited to welcome Mrs. Schuster to her new role," stated Superintendent Dr. Lohman. "Her strong background and history as an educator in Longwood, including her tenure as an educational leader and department chair, makes her a perfect addition to our Junior High School administrative team. We wish Mrs. Schuster all of the best in her new role and are confident that she will continue the mission to learn and grow together each and every day."
