Longwood School District Announces Administrative Appointments

The Longwood Central School District is pleased to announce two administrative appointments: Katherine Saint Louis, Assistant Principal at Longwood High School, and Shemaiah Villani-Lowe, Coordinator of Special Education for Pre K-6.

Mrs. Saint Louis comes to the District from the Department of Education-Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music, where she served as a special education bilingual teacher for social studies and math. In her role, she created a NYS Career Development and Occupational Studies curriculum to support students, led and facilitated department meetings to ensure cohesiveness in the curriculum, and led professional learning committees. Prior to that, Mrs. Saint Louis served as a special education bilingual teacher for social studies at the Department of Education-J.H.S. 080 Isobel Rooney.

Mrs. Saint Louis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from Hobart and William Smith College, a Master of Science in Special Education Bilingual from City College of New York, a Master of Science in Education Administration as a School Building Leader from Lehman College, and a Professional Diploma in School District Leadership from Queens College.

Most recently, Ms. Villani-Lowe served as the Committee for Special Education Chairperson at Connetquot School District. In that capacity, Ms. Villani-Lowe chaired CSE meetings, observed teachers and support staff, worked collaboratively with administrative teams to fulfill state requirements, and led team meetings. Earlier in her career, Ms. Villani-Lowe worked as a speech-language pathologist for the New York City Department of Education, where she provided therapy for individuals and groups, created goals and lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, and chaired IEP meetings for students on her caseload. 

Ms. Villani-Lowe received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Queens College, her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, and her School Building Leader and School District Leader certifications from the College of Saint Rose.
