Longwood Middle School Celebrates Successful STEAM Event

Longwood Middle School is pleased to announce the success of a recent science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) event in collaboration with BASF Corporation, where fifth-grade students participated in exciting laboratory activities designed to ignite their passion for STEAM and STEAM-related careers.

BASF's representatives led students through a series of experiments, including applying fundamental chemistry concepts and hands-on experience to create chalk and lip balm. The interactive Kids' Lab activities ensured engagement, a deeper understanding of scientific principles, and a hands-on opportunity to explore connections between science and their environment.

During the event, students actively engaged by asking questions and exchanging valuable insights. College and Career pathways and STEAM go hand in hand, helping students navigate their educational journey while building skills for future success.

Director of College and Career Pathways, Scott Schuster, expressed his enthusiasm about the event, stating, "We are truly grateful to the BASF team for their ongoing commitment to fostering a love for STEAM education. BASF knows the importance of engaging young students in science at an early age, and through their inspirational programs, helps students become the innovators and leaders of the future."
