Junior High School Redesignated as a "School to Watch"
The Longwood Central School District is proud to announce that the Junior High School has once again earned redesignation as a New York State and National Essential Elements School to Watch, marking the fourth consecutive recognition since 2012. This recognition follows a rigorous assessment process, including a detailed review and on-site evaluations.
The Essential Elements Schools to Watch program identifies exemplary middle-level institutions nationwide distinguished by their academic proficiency, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and organizational frameworks that promote high-quality educational experiences for all students.
This recognition underscores our Junior High School’s dedication to academic excellence, social equity, and whole-child development. Currently, only 47 schools in New York State have attained this esteemed designation.
Superintendent Dr. Lohman stated, “We are honored by our redesignation as a New York State and National Essential Elements School to Watch. This achievement showcases the collaborative efforts of our administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community partners, who tirelessly work together to maintain a positive and supportive environment for Every One Every Day.”
