Congratulations to the Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Longwood Central School District proudly announces this year’s valedictorian and salutatorian for the Longwood High School Class of 2023, Ryan Styron and Michael Ho. 

Finishing at the top of his class, valedictorian Ryan Styron will pursue a degree in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ryan is an AP Scholar with Distinction and earned prestigious awards from the American Chemical Society, Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science, Rensselaer Leadership, College Board National Recognition, and was a National Youth Engineering Program nominee.  

Ryan is also a member of Robotics, Student Government, Quiz Bowl, National Honor Society, and Princeton Model Congress and is a member of the Jazz Band and Pit Orchestra.  

Salutatorian Michael Ho will attend Stony Brook University this fall to study Music and Mathematics. Michael is the section leader of the Pit Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra and is a member of the Math Club, Jazz Band, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and treasurer of the Harp Club. He has earned numerous awards in music, including the American Youth Competition, International Grand Prix Competition, and Music International Piano Competition, and was named Long Island Scholar Artist, All-State Pianist, and All-Eastern Cellist. He also took first place in the American Math Competition.

"Congratulations to Ryan and Michael on this outstanding accomplishment," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lohman. "They are talented leaders and role models both inside and outside the classroom that have garnered national and county accolades. Beyond their academic and extracurricular accomplishments, they are wonderful individuals that continue to set a positive example for their peers. We are so proud of them and look forward to hearing about their future accomplishments."
