Kimberly Longo Named Principal of Coram Elementary School

The District is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly Longo as principal of Coram Elementary School, effective July 1, 2022.

Mrs. Longo began her tenure with Longwood in 2004 as an elementary teacher and, in 2013, began working as a literacy coach at Coram Elementary School. In 2018, she served as the District Coordinator of Student Support Services, and in 2021, she was appointed to her most recent position as Director of Curriculum for ELA, Math, and Science.  Mrs. Longo has also been an integral part of the Longwood School community, serving on numerous committees and initiatives, including the Curriculum Committee and the Community and Culture Committee.

“Mrs. Longo’s positive energy, passion for education, and dedication to our children, combined with her background in educational leadership and long-standing history in our Longwood community, has made her an excellent choice to lead Coram Elementary School,” said Dr. Lohman, Superintendent of Schools. “We’re pleased to have her join our school leadership team and wish her the best in her new position.”

Mrs. Longo received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College and earned a master’s degree in Literacy from Touro College. She received her Advanced Certificate in District and Building Leadership from Niagara University.

“I am honored to serve the students and families of the Coram School community, where we continue to build lasting connections and where students feel a sense of pride and belonging,” said Mrs. Longo. “I am eager to begin working with our dedicated educators to continue fostering a positive learning environment where students continue to grow and flourish.”
