LEAGUE CHAMPS!

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity soccer team and coaches Stark and Huey on capturing the Section XI League 1 Championship on Saturday, October 19—their first league title since 1995!

The Lions dominated their regular season with a 9-4-1 overall record (7-1 in league play), securing the top seed or at least a share of it in League 1 for the first time since 1995. They capped off their season in style with a commanding 4-0 win over Central Islip!

Senior Delaney Israel has been unstoppable on offense, leading the charge with ten goals and seven assists, while senior Haylee Tufano added six goals and three assists. Freshman standout Mia Drossel made her mark with seven goals and four assists, showcasing the program’s bright future. Role players Brielle Kelly, Grace Mitchell, Sara Mangels, and the rest of the team helped the Lions succeed.

“Our goal since day one was to win the league championship,” said head coach Stark. “But once playoffs come around, our focus is to make as much noise as possible, and any team that plays us will not take us lightly.”
