Four Student-Musicians Selected for All-State Conference

The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) has selected four Longwood High School students to participate in the 2022 All-State Conference based on their exemplary musical excellence.  The NYSSMA conference will take place in Rochester on December 1-4, 2022.

The following students are among ninety-nine (99) students selected from school music programs across Suffolk County:

  • Michael Ho,  All-State Symphony Orchestra (Cello) and All-State Piano Showcase
  • Kaitlyn Johnson, All-State Mixed Chorus (Voice)
  • Rebecca Muller, All-State Symphonic Band (Percussion)
  • William Ulrich, All-State Symphonic Band (French Horn)

The students were selected based on teacher recommendations, musical selections, and their scores at our NYSSMA festival last spring.

“Each year, our students are selected among the best musicians in New York State,” said Dr. John J. Gallagher, Longwood's director of music and fine arts. “It is a testament to our sequential, quality music education. Our students are active in various ensembles that provide different performance experiences. We could not be more proud.”
