Christopher Foster Named Principal at Ridge

Longwood Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Foster to the position of Principal of Ridge Elementary School.

"Mr. Foster’s strong educational leadership experience provides him with the skills required to inspire our youngest learners,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lance Lohman. “We are confident that his leadership will continue to inspire excellence while fostering a nurturing, innovative, and inclusive environment that will support each and every student to reach their fullest potential.”

Most recently, Mr. Foster served as the coordinator of the Longwood Special Education Department as well as a special education teacher at Longwood High School. He has taken on numerous leadership activities throughout his tenure, including coordinating New Teacher Orientation, the High School Empire State After School Program, district anti-bullying initiatives, and staff development. Before his position at Longwood, Mr. Foster served as a special education teacher at the Eastport-South Manor Central School District.

Known for his commitment to student success and community engagement, Mr. Foster is excited to bring his passion and expertise to his new role.
 

“I look forward to continuing to work with such a dedicated school community and building on the strong relationships that support the academic, social, and emotional development of students,” said Mr. Foster.

Mr. Foster received his bachelor’s degree in History & Social Studies Education from Hofstra University and his master’s degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities from Long Island University. Mr. Foster graduated from Stony Brook University, where he earned his post-graduate certificate in School Building and District Leadership. Mr. Foster is currently completing his Doctorate at St. John’s University.
