Building for the Future! Construction Begins on New Career & Technical Education Center

As part of our ongoing Capital Improvement Projects, the Longwood Central School District recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction of what will be Longwood’s state-of-the-art Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility at Longwood High School. This project represents a significant investment in the future of our students, expanding access to high-quality, hands-on learning experiences aligned with in-demand job certifications and career pathways.

The new CTE facility will serve as a hub for several CTE academies and pathways, including Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, Barbering, Culinary Arts—with a fully equipped industrial kitchen, a fully equipped Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing lab, Medical Assistant program, and a Media Production Lab. These cutting-edge learning environments will continue our mission to expand opportunities to empower our students with real-world skills and credentials that prepare them for the workforce and postsecondary education.

“This facility marks a major milestone for Longwood and reflects our school and community’s commitment to prepare each and every one of our students to be “First-Choice Ready,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lance Lohman. “By investing in cutting-edge learning environments and expanding our CTE offerings, we remain future-focused while creating multiple pathways for our students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.”
