Hurricanes are violent storms which form over warm water. They produce strong winds, heavy rain, high seas, and great damage. The US Weather Bureau begins tracking hurricanes when they are tropical storms. It is the job of the meteorologist to track hurricanes, and give town officials and homeowners enough time to protect their cities and homes. |
