Benjamin Guidone
Benjamin Guidone was
born in Manhattan, on April 26, 1912. He was the son of Andrew and
Lucy Guidone. Before entering the service Benjamin was employed by
the Post Engineers at Camp Upton, serving as a Stationary Fireman.
He was inducted into the Army on October 14, 1942, at Camp Upton,
New York. Guidone was living in Ridge at the time of his enlistment.
Guidone served as a Private with the 65th Infantry
Division at Camp Shelby, Mississippi for 6 months. He was then
transferred to the 601st Military Police Battalion at
Camp Shelby, where he served as an MP over German Prisoners of War.
Guidone was honorably discharged from the service on December 11,
1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
