Victor Delli – Bovi
Victor Delli – Bovi
was born on March 10, 1922 at Manhattan, New York. He was the son of
Lena (DeSanto) and Amedo Delli –Bovi. Before the war he was living
in Coram and working at Republic Aviation Corporation as a Steel
Detail Mechanic. Delli – Bovi was inducted into the Army on October
14, 1943 at Grand Central Station. . As a Private he was sent to
Miami Beach, Florida for Army Air Force basic training. Rising to
the rank of Corporal, he was sent to Radio Operator’s School in
Saint Louis, Missouri. His next assignment sent him to Savannah,
Georgia, where he spent 14 months as Radio Operations student and
also attended Gunnery School. His final 4 months of service was in
Spokane, Washington as an Administrative Technician, rising to the
rank of Sergeant. Delli – Bovi was awarded a World War II Victory
Medal, Good Conduct Medal and an American Theatre Ribbon. He was
discharged from the Army on April 11, 1946.
