Home School Compliance

Children who reside in Longwood Central School District but who are taught at home instead of a public, charter, parochial or private school, are considered to be home instructed by New York State.  Parents/guardians who elect to educate children at home are responsible for following the state regulations (see links at bottom of this page) even if enrolling children in a correspondence or online program.

By July each year, a Letter of Intent should be sent to Dr. Michael R. Lonergan, Superintendent of Schools, to instruct your child(ren) at home.  Email, fax or mail it to this office which will receive all of your materials throughout the year.

Fax: 631-345-9284
