Universal Pre-K

The Longwood Central School District participates in the grant-funded New York State Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program every school year. The program is 100% funded by New York State, and the State determines the number of children to be served by Longwood Central School District. Children who are or will be four (4) years of age on or before December 1, 2020, are eligible to participate in this program. Universal Pre-Kindergarten classes are offered at selected community pre-schools that are licensed by New York State.

If you are interested in receiving an application about our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2020 - 2021 school year, please click on the link below and complete the form. We will contact you either through email or postal mail (your preference) once UPK application and information is available, which will be in April. The placement lottery will be held in June.  Parents will be notified in July, by their contact preference, if their child has been placed in the program or if their child is placed on the waiting list awaiting an opening in the program.

The Universal Pre-K program follows the Longwood School District student calendar, and parents are responsible for transporting their child to the program.  Universal Pre-K is a State-funded, weekly half-day program pending state budget approval.
